25th Annual Candelight Christmas Caroling Join us for an old neighborhood tradition. Our 25th Annual Caroling in Washington Square Park will be held Sunday, December 13, 2009. Our annual Christmas Caroling event helps bring the holiday spirit to the Marigny. Marigny residents, visitors young and old as well as locals from around the city come together in Washington Square Park to sing Christmas carols, enjoy hot apple cider to get into the holiday spirit. The Art Market, which will be from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, will host renowned local artists who will showcase and sell their work. They include fine jewelry, water colors, stained glass, handmade soaps, relief prints, photography, paintings, hand-painted oyster shells, hand knitted jackets, tops, scarves, hats, handmade silver, gemstone and fashion jewelry, hand sewn purse and shoulder bags, glass, stone & ceramic mosaic wall hangings, folk art, embroidered textile art pieces, clothing & bags, dolls, clay art pieces, artistic wood turnings and carvings, handmade chocolates and many more. While shopping listen to seasonal music from CoCo Robicheaux & the Swamp Monsters, Helen Gilet String Quartet and Snake Greenburg and get a chance to let Pere Noel know what you wish for this holiday season. After shopping at the Art Market enjoy a leisurely stroll through the historic Marigny neighborhood and stop at one of our great restaurants, coffee shops or bars and soak in the local flavor. Then, stop back in the park for our Candlelight Caroling event which will be led the Pfister Sisters and starts at 6pm.
