The Washington Square Park Project

Thanks to the many volunteers who have helped bring our park back from the destruction and disrepair.

We are looking for people to help us keep our park open. How?

What We Have Accomplished

Clean-up #1 : Removed the large branches and debris, trimmed 1/3 of the trees of dead branches, replace damaged/dead plants, removed 15 bags of garbage

Bench Repair : Had broken cast iron welded and benches anchored to ground.

Americorps : Cleaned debris, leaves and garbage from plant beds (over 76 bags!), picked up debris in the park, removed broken parts of jungle gym, sanded jungle gym, replaced damaged and missing wood on cast iron benches, cleaned the outer sidewalks of the park

Home Tour Clean-up : Racked up the leaves and twigs in a quarter of the park, cleaned the outer side walks of the leaf piles and fixed the cement form benches.
