Playground Equipment Repair

The Friends of Washington Square Park had been working to replace the playground equipment with the help of neighbors (Scott Agies and Jeff Becker). Thanks to the hard work of Robert Reddington and Calvin Rice, they were able to locate the manufacturer and get the original plans to the play ground. Calvin has made a parts lists and found the contractors to the work.

The total for the parts is over $2,600 with an additional $9,575 for the labor to install the new parts, sandblast and paint the playground. We are looking for donations to offset the cost of the supplies and labor and are hoping we can find licensed contractors in our neighborhood to do the work for a much reduced cost or free. If you can help or know of someone that can do some of the labor please let us know.

Our goal is to have the equipment ready for spring but we also realize that depending on the cost we might not be able to complete all the work. While we are waiting on the information form the manufacturer, we want to put some feelers out to see if we could get a corporate sponsor(s) to help us with the financial aspects of repairing/painting the equipment. If you have any suggestions or ideas, please let us know.

If you would like to make a donation to the repair of the equipment, please send a check made payable to FMIA with "Playground Fund" in the memo. Send to:
